Manchester City may not play Madrid in the scheduled match following one player testing positive for COVID-19. Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz has tested positive of COVID-19 and will, therefore, miss Champions League match against Man City. Diaz is in quarantine and self-isolation.
The 26-year-old has only had four appearances for Real Madrid this season coming in as a substitute.
The Champions League will resume on August 7th with Real Madrid expected to face Man City at Etihad Stadium. Man City won in the first leg beating Real Madrid 2-0 in Spain.
Spain is on UK’s quarantine list due to the recent cases of COVID-19. This puts the Champions League 2nd leg match between City and Madrid in serious doubt because of the COVID-19 results.

Although Real Madrid have been exempted from the strict rules that prevent Spain travelers from travelling to the UK, the positive COVID-19 case could sadly prevent the second leg match from happening.
