Every player’s dream is playing for La Liga, French League 1, Bundesliga to clinch the trophy after live soccer. In 1967, the Champions League was made by a Swiss designer. Moreover, it replaced a smaller version of other tournaments. UEFA made a ruling enabling any club to keep the trophy after winning it 3 or 5 times. The most anticipated match was between Bayern Munich and Barcelona, which Bayern Munich won 8-2 against Barcelona.

Bayern bags sixth

Bayern Munich bagged the trophy after their 1-0-win victory against Paris Saint-Germain. The Bavarians, who won the German league, did not arrive at a rapturous reception that they deserved. According to ESPN, the German giants won their sixth European trophy in Lisbon. The German team added to their Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal cups they had won before this season.

The President of Bavaria was on hand to welcome the players as they disembarked from the plane. Moreover, this season Bundesliga top scorer Robert Lewandowski received a warm welcome on terra firma. Afterwards, the UEFA champions league trophy was then escorted to Allianz Arena for fans reception. Those who gathered applauded Bayern Munich players.

How much is Man Utd willing to pay for Jadon Sancho?

How much is Man Utd willing to pay for Jadon Sancho

Manchester United have been on the winger’s radar for quite some time this season and are ready to do everything possible to sign the young star in this coming transfer window.

Jadon Sancho has attracted interests from other big clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool. The advantage Man Utd have over other clubs is that he is willing to join them.

Manchester Utd are not only willing to sacrifice some players but also take a huge loan to fund Sancho’s move to Old Trafford.

With the Coronavirus pandemic, transfer fees for players are expected to reduce worldwide.

Borussia Dortmund are currently under no pressure to sell their valued winger, and if his transfer fee is to reduce, they will not lower it below £100 million. Their current value for the player is £115 million.

Man Utd are ready to sell Alexis Sanchez, Phil Jones, Andreas Parreira and Chris Smalling in order reach the amount required to sign Sancho. Sanchez and Smalling are on loan in Inter Milan and Roma respectively, and Inter is ready to sign Sanchez permanently.

Sancho still has two years left on his deal with Dortmund and the club is ready to make the most out of his transfer to whichever club is willing to sign him.

Utd’s vice chief executive Ed Woodward is known for making last-minute deals in securing bargains when signing new players. Garry Neville believes it will not be an easy task luring Dortmund into selling Sancho cheaply.

According to the former United defender, Ole Gunnar will have to pay more if he plans on landing Sancho at Old Trafford this summer.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his 50th Premier League goal against Norwich to become Arsenal’s fastest player to reach that mark in 79 premier league appearances.

The Gabon international opened the scoring in the 33rd minute after Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul made an error. Aubameyang nicked the ball off the Krul’s foot when he tried to dribble to make a long kick.

Four minutes later, the Gunners got a second goal, scored by Granit Shaka with a brilliant assist from Aubameyang.

In the 67th minute, Aubameyang scored his second goal getting him into Arsenal’s book of history. He reached the mark quicker than former Arsenal star Thierry Henry who hit the mark in 87 games.

This achievement has seen the striker becoming second after Mohammed Salah in the list of quickest African players to reach 50 premier league goals.

Aubameyang is happy about his goal scoring record at Arsenal and negotiation about his future at the club is ongoing.

“I’ll talk with the club and we’re going to see what’s going to happen, but first of all I’m focused on the games and the end of the season, so we’ll see,” Aubameyang told BT Sport.

Valencia has sacked head coach Celades following a woeful run of results in Laliga. The club has won only 1 out of 5 matches since the return of the league after Coronavirus enforced stoppage.

Voro, the assistant coach, will take charge of the club on an interim basis until the end of this season.

“Valencia have communicated to Albert Celades his removal from his position as the first-team coach, with immediate effect.” A Valencia statement read.

Celades took over from Marcelino and now leaves the club at position eight in the league, few points adrift to the top 4.

Celades was lauded for his work and dedication during his time and work at the club. He will also be remembered for the period which Valencia achieved qualification for the knockout stages of the champions league and major victories which the club had previously not won.

“The club also values his help and contribution since he took over as coach of the first team in a moment of difficulty, and wish him every success in his future endeavours,” the statement read.

Bundesliga reigning champions, Bayern Munich, have won the German Cup for a 20th time keeping their treble win hopes alive.

Thiago had earlier stalled talks with Bayern Munich over extending his contract but later revealed his plans of wanting to play in a different environment next season.

Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed this by saying that the Spaniard is free to leave, informing interested clubs that they will have to pay a ‘fair price’.

“On Thiago, you know he’s told us he wants a new challenge. If any club wants to talk and is willing to pay a fair price, we’ll work on that.”

The Spaniard played an important role in Bayern Munich’s achievements since 2013 when he moved in. He is considered one of the best creative midfielders in the world.

His involvement in Munich’s win against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final where they thrashed the Catalonians 8-2 confirmed how important he is in the midfield. He will surely bolster Jurgen Klopp’s options in the midfield.

In his seven seasons at Bayern since 2013, he has netted 31 goals in all competitions and won four German cups.

Bayern manager, Hansi Flick, admitted in an interview why he thinks Thiago wants a new challenge.

“As a person and as an athlete, I can understand him,” said Flick. “Thiago played for Barcelona, and seven years for Bayern.

“Now he wants a new challenge, which in my opinion must be the Premier League.”

Barcelona 2-8 Bayern Munich: Bayern thrash Barca to reach Champions League semi-finals

Bayern thrash Barca to reach Champions League semi-finals

Bayern Munich thrashed Barcelona 8-2 last evening in Lisbon to proceed to the Champions League semi-finals.

Both teams scored in the first seven minutes, but Bayern later took control of the game beating Barca 4-1 in the first half and scoring four more goals in the second half.

Bayern’s Philipe Coutinho and Muller netted twice each as Gnabry, Perisic, Lewandowski and Kimmich also scored. Barca’s two goals came from David Alaba’s own goal in the first half and a goal from Luis Suarez.

Many predicted Bayern’s victory considering their recent form, but scoring eight goals against a big club like Barcelona was not anticipated. The German champions mercilessly attacked Barcelona from the start to the end of the match.

The game between Man City and Lyon will determine who will face Bayern in the semi-finals. The two clubs are now fully aware of what they will be up against if any of them qualifies to the semi-finals.

Messi, image via SkysportsMessi not happy at Barcelona

One could say Messi was disappointed by his team-mates in last evening’s match although he was not at his best.

Of recent, there have been rumours of the six-time Ballon d’Or winner leaving Barcelona, but the claims are unfounded. Messi hasn’t won a trophy for Barca this season, and a new challenge for him would probably be for the best.

Setien not the best man for the job

Barcelona’s defeat followed the sacking of Quique Setién after he failed to lead Barca into Champions League victory (according to Fabrizio Romano). Setien future at Barcelona was put to question when he did not win the Laliga title.

Setien’s poor management forced Barcelona to cut short his contract that was to run till June 2022. As a Barca coach since his appointment in January, Barcelona was knocked out of the Copa del Rey, lost Laliga title and now knocked out of the Champions League.

His appointment as the club’s manager back in January was a surprise to many as he had only managed Las Palmas and Real Betis in Spain’s first division.
