Arsenal vs Chelsea: Will the Gunners win their 14th FA Cup title?

Arsenal’s all hopes are on today’s FA final match against Chelsea as it will determine if they will be in the Europa League next season. The final game will kick-off at 7:30 pm (EAT) at Wembley.

Their win in today’s match will not only determine if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stays but also help attract their main transfer targets in this summer transfer window.

Chelsea will be in the European football next season since they finished third in the Premier League. Arsenal finished in the eighth position and will have to win in today’s match to secure a spot in the Europa League campaign.

Today’s match is also significant to both Mikel Arteta and Frank Lampard since they all have expectations of winning their first cup for their respective clubs as managers. Who will it be?

The Gunners have a record of 13 FA Cups and hopes to extend their record to 14 Cup wins.

Manchester United eyes James Rodriguez to strengthen their midfield

According to reports, James Rodriguez has been linked with a move to Manchester United. Manchester United’s qualification to the Champions League has given them the confidence of making new bids to sign top players.

United are currently in search of a Bruno Fernandez back up as they do not expect him to be involved in every game. The Portuguese international has been of impact since he arrived at Old Trafford. His confidence and creativity have transformed the Manchester United team.

James Rodriguez is a potential signing for Manchester United. Reports indicate that United have been in contact with him. The Red devils consider Rodriguez a back up option for Fernandez.

Under Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid, Rodriguez performed well in his first season. Zidane’s arrival at Madrid saw him signed out on loan to Bayern Munich where he was at his best form. Despite his best performance in Germany, Bayern did not sign him permanently. He was on loan at Bayern for two years since 2017.

From reports, it will cost Manchester United around 25 million euros to sign Rodriguez. The Colombian international can play as a winger as well as an attacking midfielder.

Inter Milan to sign Alexis Sanchez on a permanent deal

Alexis Sanchez has had a good run at Inter Milan in his last eight appearances for the club scoring three goals.

It is for this reason that Inter has decided to sign the Man United forward permanently.

Sanchez earns around £400,000 a week. This is beyond Inter Milan’s reach. It is evident that Ole Gunnar has no plans of keeping the Chilean for the next season. As a result, he will have to sell him.

United’s contract with Sanchez will expire in 2022. Moreover, Manchester United has been paying him his wages during his time in Italy. If Alexis Sanchez agrees to sign for Inter Milan, then he will have to accept a wage cut and Man Utd will have to pay him for the remaining years on his contract.

FA Community Shield set to be played on 29th August.

FA Community Shield, the annual curtain raiser for the new premier league season, will be played on 29th August at Wembley Stadium. The fixture will be between the PL Champions and FA champions. In this case, Liverpool and whoever will win the FA final. Chelsea and Arsenal battle it out for the FA trophy on 1st August.

Liverpool vs Chelsea

If Chelsea win this clash, we will get to see their new signings play. You would not want to miss seeing Timo Wener and Hakim Ziyech play against the Red Meyerside club.

However, if Arsenal win, they will be seeking their 16th title in this competition. The Gunners might clinch their first trophy under the management of Mikel Arteta. Arsenal playing at Wembley for an FA Community shield triggers some history. Arsenal’s Wembley run is nothing to go by.

Here we go, Nathan Ake to Manchester City.

Manchester City made a £41 million offer for Nathan Ake to Bournemouth. The initial offer was accepted and the deal is to be finalized by the weekend. The transfer fee for the 25-year-old Dutch defender is a record sale for Bournemouth. The Cherries were relegated to the championship on Sunday.

Talks over the centre back between the clubs began before the end of the Premier League season. As a result, it was expected he would depart from Bournemouth this summer. This came as a shocker to many. This is because Ole Gunnar, Manchester United’s Head Coach, was seen speaking to him in length after their second leg match against United. It seemed he was interested in buying the player but too bad he is headed to the Blue Side of Manchester.

In the 2019/20 EPL season, Nathan Ake made 29 appearances for the Cherries. In those 29 appearances he netted two goals, and made two assists. Moreover, he kept four clean sheets averaging 1.1 tackles per game. The four out of 29 clean sheets is a poor record for a defender. However, people may argue that the performance is dependent on other team mates.

This signing was criticized on social media. Nevertheless, pundits say he will definitely strengthen Manchester City’s defense and improve squad depth. A rival fan said, “£41 million is too much for a relegated defender who has conceded 65 goals typical Pep”. Hopefully, Nathan Ake will help Manchester City to achieve more clean sheets next season. Can’t wait to see him in a sky blue shirt. Manchester City are also linked to a close signing of Spanish right Winger, Ferran Torres, from Valencia.

What to expect in the new English Premier League Season.

New Ball

The new English Premier League season will begin on September 12th. First things first, Nike will unveil the new premier league ball, the Nike Flight. The ball is a product of an eight year project to improve football consistency. Moreover, it has been well tested. The results, when the ball is travelling through the air it is quite good. As a result, it can be easily tracked even in windy conditions. Looking forward to see it in use.

Promoted Sides

On promotions, Leeds are back in the Premier League after 16 years of missing out. The Championship winners have been promoted to the English Premier League. It does not get better than this! At the helm of the team is Marcelo Bielsa, a legendary coach. This therefore reignites one of the oldest and biggest football rivalries in English football. The rivalry between the Roses and Manchester United. Looking forward to the Pennines Derby.

New Signings

On transfers, we have new players already in the Premier League. These players will make their Premier League debuts next season, 2020/2021. Among them are two players who will be part of an anticipated London attacking trio, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Chelsea has signed both players to bolster their attacking options. According to their reputation, both are expected to be clinical finishers. The two will link up with Christian Pulisic. Together they may or may not give defenders a tough time in the league. Chelsea have really improved their attacking squad depth. As a result, currently they have quality options in their offense. The South West London blues will be a force to reckon with next season.
